“Do not walk away!”

John 6:66 From that time many of His disciples went back, & walked no more with Him.

Why, Why would someone who has tasted the goodness of the Lord turn Back? The hardness of life? unbelief? Rebellion? Self? Amp. Bible says: they turned back to their OLD ASSOCIATIONS. So other people can draw us back. I find it interesting that this verse is 666.(man the number 6) We let this world & we let others draw us back.

Jimmy Swaggart’s notes say: the claims of Christ were so profoundly different for what they anticipated…

We want to see Jesus as we want to, if He reveals to us differently, we turn back. We have expectations & we anticipate what we want out of life & when it does not go the way we want. we waiver. But we are not of those who turn back.

Hosea 11:7 My people are bent to backsliding from me…

but Hosea 14:4 says: I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely…

He does not want us to turn back. He wants to heal us. We must surrender to Him daily. If we do He will heal us. If we let the things of this world take our focus, we will fail.

What turns men away from God? Their own lust? Can a Christian be deceived? Do people know what they are doing when they walk away from God?

Do not let the lust of the flesh, eyes, or world draw you away from God. We must daily die to self and trust Him. We can not stay on course without Him. For without Him we can do nothing.

II Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you. Deut 11:16 Take heed that your heart be not deceived.

If our eyes are on Him daily, our “Self” will not get in the way and we will not turn back. So do as the song says: Turn your eyes upon Jesus!!! Only Jesus can satisfy your soul! Another good song. This is so true. We deceive ourselves when we think that this world, success, or any other worldly thing could really satisfy us. Be not deceived! Give your heart to Him today!!
