Many people blame everything on the devil. Every time something is wrong or they do something they feel bad about doing, the old saying comes back up: “The devil made me do it”. Don’t get me wrong satan & his demons are out there even more in these last days, but we must understand we have a sin nature that arises from within. Even though we are born again, when we surrender our members the wrong way, the sin nature arises.

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Rom. 7:22-25 There is a war going on between our new nature and our old nature. But Praise God, as Paul asked who shall deliver me and answered: “Oh thank God, He will, through Jesus Christ”, so can we say Oh Thank God He will deliver us!!

Rely on the carnal nature and you will fail.

The Flesh (carnal nature) comes out anytime we trust in our own ability, our own way, and our own desires, instead of placing our trust and faith in what Jesus Christ did for us at the Cross.

Rom. 6:10-14 We have no business having a relationship with sin, only unbroken fellowship with God, through Jesus Christ.

Satan does use our weaknesses. Any effort that is birthed out of the flesh, satan has legal access to that area. But when we place our faith in what Jesus did at the Cross, that gives the latitude to the Holy Spirit to work in our lives in that area.

Galatians 5:16 Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Romans 8:12-13(Amplified Bible)
12 So then, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh [we are not obligated to our carnal nature], to live [a life ruled by the standards set up by the dictates] of the flesh.
13 For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.

The flesh is incapable of overcoming sin.

Romans 8:8(Amplified Bible)
8 So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.
So does this mean we have to work our way to God? Again, anything that is birthed from our own way does not please God. It is only when we place our faith in what Jesus did for us at the Cross, can we please God.

The just shall live by faith!! (Habakkuk 2:4; Rom. 1:17; Gal. 3:11; Heb. 10:38) Faith in what Jesus did!! Not is what we can or can not do. We get in trouble when we obey our fleshly appetites.

The answer comes when we follow Rom. 6:6-13

vs 6 & 9 Know

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Knowing that it is Christ and Him crucified that saves us from our sin.

vs 11 Reckon

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

(We must esteem Christ greater than our own effort. Be as Paul when he says; Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ…)

vs 13 Yield

3 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Yield not unto your flesh and the sin nature, but unto God and His plan of deliverance: “Jesus Christ and Him Crucified”.

If we try to live our lives according to some man made habit or man made idea of walking each day we will fail.

Only walking by faith in what Jesus did at the Cross will make us over-comers. So examine yourself to see if you are in “The Faith”. Are you having faith in your own effort? Do you have faith in your faith? Are you looking to what you are doing? Are you trying to keep the law? Galatians 3:3(Amplified Bible)
Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun [your new life spiritually] with the [Holy] Spirit, are you now reaching perfection [by dependence] on the flesh?

The only answer to salvation and sanctification is “Jesus Christ and Him Crucified”!!!!!
